Welcome to
J-Mar Farm!
J-Mar Farm started in 2006 as a small meat goat operation on a small 25 acre farm in Cullen, Virginia. As time moved on, we did too. We slowly added sheep and guardian dogs. We occasionally had Holstein steers we’d raise for our kids to show in our local 4-H show.
In 2012 we added our first registered Angus cattle. Also, that year we sold our small 25 acre farm and bought and moved to an 84 acre farm where we built 4 commercial broiler chicken houses.

After we got everything moved and settled in, we decided to change our meat goat operation that was mainly Kiko- based to a more commercial Boer-based herd. We not only changed our goat breeding, we also brought in more wool and hair sheep. We run Suffolk cross wool sheep herd with a small emphasis on club lambs for our kids to show. The hair sheep are Katahdin sheep, we like them because they are low maintenance and easy keepers.
We started our registered Angus breeding stock with 3 heifers and have been adding to and growing from there ever since. We mainly AI our cows and heifers. We do keep a cleanup bull on hand. We’ve gotten to the point we now have some bulls for sale. We have a few commercial cattle every year that we raise for freezer meat. All of our cattle are raised on grass and grain.
We don’t only raise livestock we also grow corn and orchard grass hay. We raise corn for market and to heat our home. We are a family run farm, we all work together to reach a common goal. We support and participate in the local 4-H and FFA. We strive to be the best stewards to the land and livestock we possibly can.
